35 applications and counting

The Natural Analog System or NAS, is just one component in a patented remediation process.  This 3 step strategy is composed of (1) the NAS chemical process, (2) an accurate delivery system, and (3) a sensitive verification system.  When combined, these elements create a verifiable scientific environmental contamination solution.

Our overall objective is the elimination and or reduction in the permeability of the surrounding soil and rock.  The NAS process can remediate toxic & radioactive sites and isolate ground water flow pathways all hazardous land fills.  Overall strategy application requires special site specific characterization reflecting all physical and chemical parameters.

The Technological Strategy

Our strategy utilizes a Natural Analog Process emphasizing a compatibility with natural conditions.  Results can thus be evaluated with natural geologic examples for a precise durability prediction.  The chemical process stiffens or solidifies soil and rock masses in a way that is analogous to the natural formation of sedimentary rock.

As a compliment to the original process, we developed a new technology named NAS Solid.  This patent pending method, creates a natural concrete like material for excavated soil treatment.  By increasing the soil’s mechanical stability, our climate resistant technology retains the original resistance to water permeation.

How Does The NAS Process Work?

By artificially inducing geologic and chemical processes, NAS can reduce or eliminate hydraulic conductivity & porosity in the host soil and rock.  The utilization of a natural geologic process, the NAS chemical process gradually converts unconsolidated sediments into rock by cementation and pore filling.  In general our process involves induced precipitation of calcium carbonate.  This is done filling cracks, fissures, and other voids in existing rock and soil layers with a form of calcium carbonate named, cateite.
