The Natural Analog System
The Natural Analog System is a Patented Process and one component of a remediation strategy composed of (1) the NAS chemical process, (2) an accurate delivery system and (3) a sensitive verification system. Combined, the elements represent a scientifically sound and verifiable solution for environmental contamination problems. The goal of the strategy is the reduction and/or elimination of soil and rock permeability and isolation from ground water flow pathways in landfill, hazardous and toxic waste and radioactive waste site remediation. The application of the overall strategy is site-specific requiring site characterization for physical and chemical parameters.

The Technological Strategy
The technological strategy emphasizes compatibility with natural conditions, and utilizes a natural analog process-thus the results and predicted durability of a treatment can be evaluated by comparison with natural geologic examples. The chemical process stiffens or solidifies soil/rock masses in a way that is analogous to the natural formation of sedimentary rock.
A new NAS technology, NAS Solid, was developed to compliment the original process. This new, patent pending method, allows the treatment of excavated soils with all natural products, creating a “concrete-like” material. This process retains the original technologies’ resistance to water permeation, but also significantly increases the mechanical stability of the soil.
